By now, you all should have received your books. We do hope that you're enjoying every page. If you haven't gotten your order, it either means that there was some problem in-transit, or we never received your address info. Please let us know so we can correct this!

We'd also like to share the exciting news that Not Especially Special is now available on Amazon. (It takes a couple of orders for them to finally register it as "In Stock," so if you'd like any additional copies of the book--for a sweet Easter gift, maybe?-- now would be a great time for you to place an order!)

We'd also so appreciate it if you'd take a moment to LEAVE A REVIEW. We're trying to reach out to people who have never seen the book at all, so reviews are one of the best ways to pique interest. Would you mind taking a moment to leave a short, honest review? It should only take a few minutes, and you needn't have bought the book on Amazon for them to accept a review from you. Books are OUT!

Hello backers and friends,

We hope that this email finds you in the midst of a happy holiday season. This year has been a busy one for us, but one filled with gratitude for the generosity and support all of you have shown our campaign. 

Addressing each envelope, to names we know well and to names we've never heard until now, was a joy. We hope that, as you receive your books, my gratefulness is evident. And we hope that the children with whom you read this story might always know how valued they are.

All orders are out, save for a few local orders. Be on the lookout in your mailboxes if you haven't yet received yours. 

ALSO PLEASE LET US KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS. We are rookies at this, and, while we've done our best in the way of accuracy and packaging, I am sure there will be some mistakes and perhaps some damaged materials. We are happy to fix them, so please just let us know!

Also, there are a handful of orders that have incomplete information. (Either an address wasn't entered or a card was declined.) For some of these orders, we're having trouble reaching the recipient. If that might be you, please update your information so we can send out your package.

Shipping begins NEXT WEEK!

Hello backers and friends!

Wanted to let you know that the barge carrying the huge shipment of the first edition of Not Especially Special is scheduled to dock at port TODAY. If all goes as planned, the books will be at my doorstep sometime this week, so we'll be shipping out your orders as soon as we can. (PS- I got a small number of books sent in advance and they look INCREDIBLE.)

On a personal note, it is very special indeed that my illustrator, Emily, will be coming from Kansas City to help me pack and send orders. It has been such a joy to work together, and even though we didn't know one another before this project, she has become a fast friend.

Thank you for your patience, kindness, and excitement about this project. Emily and I are both over the moon.

If you added any additional items in the Backerkit shop, you should also know that your credit card will be charged for those items on November 30th. (All charges from the Kickstarter campaign have already been taken care of; this is ONLY if you opted to add anything else after the Kickstarter was over.)

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with ANY questions or problems. We're going to do our best to make sure that everything in the fulfillment process runs smoothly, but there are bound to be little snags along the way. (This is our first time, after all! Everything is new!) Just let us know and we'll do our best to fix it if something comes up.

Books Are ALMOST Finished!

Hello All,

Just a quick update to let you know that books are almost finished printing (they should be ready by the end of this month to ship). It will still be a bit before books are IN YOUR HANDS because of the long (4-week) shipping time from China. But as soon as we get them, we'll hustle to get those babies out so you'll have them in time for Christmas. 

There are a few addresses we're missing, so if you haven't given us your address yet, or don't know how to, please let me know. You can respond here or email [email protected]. We want to do our best to avoid any sort of delays!

If you need any extra copies, preorders will be up all the way through our ship date. (You get a special price if you are adding on additional copies.)

Continue to be so thankful for you all. As we pray for our children each night, "may the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you." Thanks again!

"Fly Away" and Another Call for Surveys

Hello My Favorite Backers!

Just a quick note to let you know that you should have received your free download of Stephanie Jeck's beautiful song "Fly Away" in your email inboxes. Please take a listen. I hope it immediately goes to the top of your play-in-the-car list-- or that it AT LEAST comes in before anything sung by The Rock. 

I also want to encourage you to fill out your survey if you haven't yet done it. Should take only a few minutes, and it gives us all the important info about where to send your goods.
